BRAVA Composite Cedar Shake – Natural Cedar

The house is low and wide, set back in mature oaks with a pond off the drive. Most of the elevation is warm limestone, which narrows the roof options considerably — a grey shake would have fought the stone, and asphalt would have flattened the whole thing.

Natural Cedar is the warmest colour BRAVA makes, and it picks up the tan in the limestone rather than sitting against it. The copper does the same job in a different register: bright now, and it will darken into the stone over the next several years. The skylights were replaced with VELUX units while the deck was open, with factory flashing kits woven into the new courses.

Copper Gutters & Snow Guards

Copper gutters and downspouts throughout, with copper snow guards above the entries and the garage doors. Chosen to age into the limestone rather than stay bright against it.

New VELUX units replacing the originals, installed while the deck was open with factory flashing kits woven into the new shake courses.
